Primary and Secondary Schools Reopening

Education CS  Dr George Magoha has announced reopening of primary and secondary schools. Progressive reopening of schools will start with grade 4, class 8 and form 4. These shall report on 12th October. However, schools shall have to adhere to strict  guidlines to avoid the spread of Covid-19. The new school calendar is as shown below.

The ministry of health has put the following guidelines  for the resumption of learning:

  1. Mandatory use of face masks, hand sanitizing, and temperature monitoring for everyone accessing schools
  2.  Although social distancing shall remain a problem, no one should  use it to keep children from school.
  3. Fumigation of all schools previously used as quarantine centers.
  4.  All schools have been linked to the nearby health facilities.
  5. Teachers should remain committed to offer spiritual and emotional support to the students and the staff.
  6. BOM/ head teachers / principals shall ensure compliance with the regulations.
